Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor's story is known to all by now. The latest buzz is that Kareena dumped Shahid because of her career, which she gives top priority.

Kareena is still Bollywood's hot and sexy actress. Yet, when paired with her real-life boyfriend on screen, she has done very poorly.

A close Bollywood source says: "Kareena and Shahid were very much in love for the past couple of years but they were a flop on screen. "China Town ", "Fida" and "Chup Chup Ke" went down without a whimper. Then Shahid hit the jackpot with "Vivaah"."

The source adds: "Kareena realized that together they are a flop, and hence, started searching for someone else. Finally, it seems she has settled for Saif Ali Khan. Nowadays, Saif and Kareena are often seen together and they are very comfortable with each other."

Shahid was in Toronto for some time for a shoot but he returned to Mumbai on October 1.

Since then, he hasn't met his friends and has kept a low profile. The source reveals that the chocolate boy-actor is very upset with his break off, while Kareena is calm and composed.

Shahid and Kareena came face to face yesterday for the shooting of the remaining portions of "Jab We Met".

The source says: "Both were good and there were no cold vibes. Shahid did not express that he was affected with the break-off. But he left as soon as he was done with his part of the shoot. The two did not even exchange pleasantries."

But is Kareena safe with Saif? The latter's love life doesn't portray him as a steady partner at all. He married Amrita Singh, who was 10 years elder to him; they have a son, Ibrahim, and a daughter, Sara. When "Hum Tum" sent Saif's career rocketing, he left Amrita and fell for Roza.

When Roza parted ways, Saif was seen a lot with Bipasha. There were rumours that something was on between Saif and Yana Gupta.

Kareena Kapoor is currently in Manali with beau Shahid Kapoor shooting for Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. Shooting for the film is expected to end on May 30.

According to a leading daily the couple have been driving around in the twin cities of Kulu and Manali and taking long walks after sunset. Romancing, would describe it.

Though Kareena has consistently maintained marriage is not on her or Shahid's mind as both of them want to concentrate on their respective careers, we are hoping the salubrious environs of the hill station nestled at an altitude of 1,829 m in the Shivalik hills would change the couple's mind.

To tell you the truth, we don't believe the two of them have such exciting careers at this point of time. Okay, that was a tad unwarranted.

Shahid does have Firoz Nadiadwala's Fool N Final lined up for release. Directed by choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan, the action comedy features Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty.

In fact, shortly before Kareena flew to Manali, Khan arranged a special screening of the Fool N Final for her, because he knew she would not get a chance to see the film when it was officially released because of her projects.

After seeing the film, Kareena was so excited by the way Khan had directed beau Shahid she gifted him a Rs 2.5 lakh Breitling wrist watch!

That wasn't very bright. Khan already had the watch!

"It was a pleasant surprise for me. I am extremely fond of branded watches and I already had the same model which Kareena has gifted me. But I appreciate the gesture that she bought me something which I like. Probably, Shahid had told Kareena that I collect watches," he said.

Kareena has set high standards for herself after winning the best actress STAR Screen award for Omkara, beating popular choice Kajol in Fanaa. The award has inspired Kareena to work harder.

“Getting my first popular best actress award at the beginning of the year just elates me. I'm now getting the right scripts like Mani Ratnam's Lajjo. Now, I want to do only good films. It's so easy just to be in big projects and get big money. I don't believe in that. I've to have a central part now,” says Kareena.

What about the cameo in Don?

“That one song is running in all the night clubs. All the college kids are dancing to it. I've one big hit to dance to.”

Kareena says Kajol, who lost the popular award to her, was genuinely happy for her.

“By chance Kajol was sitting right next to me when my name was announced. She was so genuinely pleased for me. Kajol along with my sister Karisma have always been my idols. Both have had their share of awards. Now, it's my turn.

“I've received critics' awards. But this is my first taste of popular awards since Refugee. Omkara has been a great experience for me. People still come to me on flights and the gym to tell me how much they liked me in Omkara”

She says she has tasted blood. "I want to win at every awards function this season."

Kareena Kapoor was almost in tears when her boyfriend Shahid Kapur was hanging between life and death during a stunt scene.

Shahid is one of the stars of choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan’s movie Fool And Final . The film has Shahid doing some dangerous stunts.

One such stunt shows Shahid cycling down on a broad strip of cloth from the top of a 16 storey building to the ground below. Now, Shahid has vertigo problem and therefore Kareena was very concerned while he was shooting this sequence a couple of months back. She was constantly on the phone with the movie’s director when the sequence was being shot.

To Bebo’s horror, as Shahid began cycling down, the cloth snapped and the actor was left stranded mid-way, suspended by a safety cable to which he was harnessed.

Ahmed Khan is quoted as saying that Kareena was almost in tears when she came to know that the stunts had gone wrong.

However, Shahid was safely brought down without any injury.

Later, while shooting a song sequence in which Shahid and a number of other dancers were tied to cables and pulled up, Kareena was again a bundle of nerves. Again, to her horror, this stunt too went wrong.

Of the two cables (left and right one) with which Shahid was harnessed, one snapped. Shahid, however, showed a presence of mind and quickly held the other cable for his safety. This time also when Kareena came to know how close Shahid had got to hurting himself, she sobbed.

Now, this is called true love.

Kareena Kapoor's hit track, "It's Rocking Yaara Kabhi Ishq To Karo", from the forthcoming 'Kya Love Story Hai' (out on April 20th), is making news for all the right and wrong reasons.Right, because it is already No.1 on the world charts and is among the most requested songs on radio these days. Wrong, because Ayesha Takia was rumouredly upset about the introduction of the track and the attention going to Kareena!

Now, another controversy on this song has come to the foreground. Before choreographer Bosco was roped in for "It's Rocking Yaara Kabhi Ishq To Karo", it seems director Lovely Singh had approached Ganesh Hegde (who Choreographed "Main Hoon Don" last year). According to Singh, the latter had to be replaced because he gave him a lot of starry airs.

Remarks Lovely, "He wanted to change the whole song and that's not even a choreographer's job! I'm happy with my decision to replace him because the final output by the new choreographer is making waves and has been very well received!"

Hegde, on his part, said, "When I first heard the song I couldn't visualize anything spectacular so I asked Lovely to make some changes to the song. Kareena is a dear friend so I wanted to give her the best. Anyway, it's really not my loss. I do select work in a year and prefer maintaining that."
